Villarreal 0 United 0

European aways are as much about the trip as the result, especially in the group stages where we all kind of know at the back of our minds that we will qualify anyway. Whereas trips to Barcelona or Milan in the semi finals cause sleepness nights and incredible worry about the results, group stage aways such as Villarreal are far less pressured and more effort goes into the trip than the match. Reds flocked to the small town via Barcelona, Alicante and Benidorm as an away in Spain was as good an excuse as any to spend some time in the sun. Many of them booked not knowing that whilst it would be sunny it would also br freezing cold. Read more

Aston Villa 0 United 0

Villa Park is a happy hunting ground for United. Win after win has come there in Ferguson’s time, both against Villa and also in so many cup semi finals. Arsenal 2 United 1

Celtic 1 United 1

Memories of two years ago came flooding back as we took the same flight up to Glasgow, dumped our bags at the same hotel and sat in the same rush hour traffic en route to Celtic Park. There was already the smell of tension in the air as the locals lined the streets and the pavements outside every pub through the city. This was going to be one hell of a night and United would be looking to avenge the loss last around. Read more
