Whilst this season has been anything but great so far it is actually very similar to last year, which also started with a win on penalities in the Community Shield and a disappointing home draw on the opening day. The loss at Anfield mirrored the loss at City last season and draw at Chelsea last week was similar to the game at Pompey last August. So hopefully, just like last season’s win over Sunderland, yesterday’s game against Bolton can kick start the campaign and see United push on. Read more

United 3 Boro 1

Many United fans wanted United to lose this match- they see it as a meaningless competition that serves little purpose other than costing money in tickets that the club forces fans to buy. However, when the game got going yesterday I did want United to come through it unscathed, especially after Pogatez’s awful challenge had soured the match. Read more

Chelsea 1 United 1

United went to Stamford Bridge on bad form, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it up. The team will have the most awful week in training on the back of a terrible performance at Anfield, and had a point to prove as they drove up at Chelsea. And their detrmination paid off- from the very start they outplayed Chelsea, took the game to them, created chances and showed that they can still bounceback as well as ever. Read more

Liverpool 2 United 1

All good things have to end. The might Liverpool have finally scored a goal at home to their arch rivals, something even Man City have proved better at doing. Four games of the season gone and Liverpool fans are getting carried away- yes they did it without Torres and Gerrard, it is an improvement on last season, Robbie Keane ran around a lot without really touching the ball- good for them. I was gutted at the final whistle yesterday, but I am over it now- it was just three points and a bit of a shambolic performance, but we will make up for it. Let’s see which team is happier in May.
