“We’re all off to sunny Spain, to see Man United…” echoed Reds in bars across Barcelona on Wednesday. The sun shone, the Reds sang, the Nou Camp beckoned and Moscow awaited. Blackburn 1 United 1

United never do things the easy way and it seems winning the title this season will follow suit. When Everton drew at Wigan last week it looked as if the battle was won, but 88 minutes into this match Chelsea had the upper hand in the race going into the final straight. A loss at Blackburn would have been potentially disasterous, but a draw means the Reds can go to Stamford Bridge and afford to slip up- a huge difference. So thank you Carlos Tevez for another late goal that may just make the difference. Read more

United 2 Arsenal 1

There are moments in every season that are seen in hindsight as turning points. Earlier this season I was convinced we would be made to pay for losing at West Ham, especially as Arsenal then went on turn a loss into a win at Everton only hours later. However, in hindsight now, that weekend was not especially imporant at all. United came back from that loss whilst Arsenal went on to capitulate in many other games. Instead the turning point of the season will be Arsenal fielding a weak team in the cup at Old Trafford, getting thumped, then going to Birmingham a week later and throwing the game away there too as Gallas sat on the sidelines sulking. They never recovered and a fairly average Chelsea side carried on grinding results out and kept the pressure on in their place. Read more

Roma 0 United 2

The potential for chaos was written all over this game, both on and off the pitch. The Roma players would be wanting to avenge last years exit, whilst the Roma fans and local police have an anything but friendly relationship with United fans. Luckily for us we came out of this game with a huge advantage ahead of the second leg, and were in one piece too. Read more
