Man Utd 1-1 Chelsea
This game was overhyped beyond all belief. Whichever team won would be only slightly better off than a few hours previously and the title race would not be decided either way. However, what does any of this matter when Sky have ratings predictions to hit? Queue media sensationalism, a so called title decider day in November, and a frenzy around the stadium which at least resulted in a great atmosphere. Read more

Celtic 1-0 Man Utd
With three games of this season’s Champions League gone, United bragged that they had learned their lessons from last season’s humiliating group finish. Two losses later, and yet another final game decided looming, United will rue their terrible display in Copenhagen and failure to score in Glasgow. Read more

Southend 1-0 Man Utd
United’s schizophrenic season took another unpredictable twist at Roots Hall when the team managed to get dumped out of the Carling Cup by a team bottom of the Championship. An embarrassing night for Reds everywhere, especially considering the team that the manager put out. Read more

Man Utd 3-0 Portsmouth
United are a schizophrenic team this season, switching between fast exciting football and a dire long ball game. Just like the last two league games, and unlike the midweek European fixture in Copenhagen, this was a great example of the more impressive style. United came out against Portsmouth determined to erase any memories of the midweek shambles and remove any doubt that the good run may be over. It took just ten minutes before Rooney had earned a pen, duly converted by Saha, and Ronaldo had put in a magnificent free kick. The game was effectively over in ten minutes, and 80 minutes of showboating and wonderful football followed. Read more

Copenhagen 1-0 Man Utd
Football throws supporters a variety of fixtures and, whilst the likes of City get to play cup games in Darlington and Scunthorpe, United have a slightly more glamorous games in Copenhagen, Milan, Prague and Lisbon. When the draw was made back in August the Celtic game stood out for attractiveness, but the trip to Copenhagen jumped out for a holiday destination. Thousands of Reds poured over to Denmark all prepared to complain about beer prices and the cold weather, but none expected just how extreme it would be. Read more
