Man Utd 2-0 Newcastle

United have not been especially convincing this season, but on paper seem to be doing well. Top of the league and full points in Europe is certainly an improvement, but at times the standard of football and depth in the squad has actually declined. Results against Watford, Spurs, Benfica and possibly Celtic flattered United and so this game against Newcastle was not guaranteed victory at all. However, on the day Newcastle were so abysmally awful that a United team not even playing that well made chances for fun and walked to victory. Read more
